
CSR2 Live Ops - American Series Campaign
One of the biggest highlights of working on CSR2 was contributing to the branding and visual identity of the American series, a long running event which rewarded the player with a collection of American cars. For this event I worked on the graphic design used for the event panels which went on to define the event branding throughout the game and set a benchmark of quality for events going forwards. By working closely with the 3D car render artist we were able to get the highest possible quality to shine through in the car image by making bespoke renders of the cars on top of the graphic background in the 3D scene which makes the cars look like they realistically belong on the background and haven't been pasted on top using image software. The white car on the pink and green background will have pink and green shadows and reflections to create a convincing render. I am very proud of what was achieved and look back on the project with fondness.

CSR2 Live Ops - Elite Tuners Bold Beat
During my time as a UI artist on CSR2 I worked on one of the most significant bold beats in the game which was the Elite Tuners campaign. This event was a long running series which rewarded players with eye catching and unique car liveries. To promote these events I created some graphic design compositions for the promotional news panels by collaborating with the 3D render artist to get high quality car images sporting the new liveries and combining them with character art, logos and vector graphics from the liveries themselves. I also contributed to the design of the main Elite Tuners logo which is consistent throughout the event. The campaign had a very distinct visual identity which created a strong presence for the event within the game.

CSR2 Live Ops - Easter
During my role at Natural Motion I worked on numerous live events which involved creating pre-vis for bespoke event themed UI and implementing those designs into Unity by updating prefabs, sprite atlases and colour palettes. The Easter event also involved the opportunity to add an Easter costume to one of the main characters and a special event Easter egg graphic. The event involved creating a themed event panel, map pin, dealership blocks, rare imports screen and promotional news panels. Car renders featuring a set prize car and event cars would be required which involved taking renders from Unity and compositing the various render passes into the final marketing image which would then be implemented in game.

CSR2 Live Ops - Europe Series
Following the success of the previous American Series I worked on the graphic design and visual identity of the Europe series, a long running event which awarded the player a collection of European cars. Art featuring various racing locations in Europe, such as Silverstone in the UK, was featured strongly in the UI theming for this event and was applied to event panels, map pins, the dealership screen, events hub, rare imports and the narrative screen.

CSR2 Live Ops - Koenigsegg Ghost Squadron Halloween
CSR2 partnered with the manufacturer Koenigsegg for a special Halloween event in-game, allowing the player to race and win various cars from the Ghost Squadron series. For this event I created visuals for event panels, news panels, the dealership, map pin and various other areas of the game using the official Ghost Squadron logo and character art of Christian Von Koenigsegg himself. This event required an intensive approval process which entailed creating a thorough document featuring all the proposed event art across the game to be reviewed by a licensing specialist, then forwarded to the manufacturer for sign off before implementation could begin.

CSR2 Live Ops - Fast and Furious Hobbs and Shaw
One of the most impactful events in CSR2 was the Fast and Furious Hobbs and Shaw event, which used character art, official Fast and Furious branding and the use of colour palettes provided by Universal Studios. For this event I contributed designs for in game elements using the provided branding and colours, as well as implementing the new character art and generating the car renders for use on the promotional news panels. I also provided the necessary approval documents which would be sent to Universal Studios for review and feedback.

CSR2 Live Ops - Bugatti 110th Anniversary
I contributed to several live ops campaigns featuring specific manufacturer milestones, including the Bugatti 110th Anniversary. For this event we had the unique opportunity to use line drawings of key figures in the Bugatti manufacturers family which would have also been printed onto the interior dashboard of the real world car. We were able to use this as well as the official branding for the anniversary event in the designs for event panels, map pins and various other areas of the game.
